Goin’ LIVE with the Woodbooger

“Listen here, streamer. You bring the chat, I’ll bring the trouble. Your viewers tap, the trail fights back, and everybody gets a show. Here’s how we do it proper.”

How LIVE works

  • LIVE mode plays tall and skinny, the shape of a TikTok screen, even on a computer.
  • Stream from a computer with the free TikFinity app (setup below), so your real chat reaches the game.
  • Your chat’s taps fill a meter. Every full meter throws new chaos at the Woodbooger.
  • Survive the chaos and coins pay out bigger. Wipe out and the chat gets the bragging rights.

Frame it right

“Pick the one that suits ya. Whichever way, TikTok drops its own name bar up top and a big stack of comments over the bottom third, so keep the game and your face out from under ’em.”

You on top (most popular)What most gaming LIVEs run: you across the top third, the game big below. Keep the game's action in its upper half; chat scrolls over the bottom.
StackedGame wide across the top, you wide across the bottom. Crop the game to the action and let the comments float over your half.
SplitGame big, you in a box on the right, sittin' just above where the comments start.
Picture-in-pictureGame fills the screen; you in a small cam up top on the right, round or square, clear of the trail.

Hook up your chat

You’ll need a computer. LIVE mode with real chat works when you stream from a computer. Phones aren’t supported yet.

“A web page can’t hear your TikTok LIVE on its own, so we lean on a free helper called TikFinity. It listens to your LIVE and passes every tap, gift and follow to the game.”

TikFinityFree desktop app for TikTok LIVE streamers. The free plan is all you need; Pro is optional. Made by a separate company, not by us or TikTok.

  • To go LIVE on TikTok you need to be 18 or older, with LIVE access on your account (usually 1,000 followers) and a clean record.
  • Just practicin’? Tick “Demo chat” in the game for fake viewers. Turn it off before you go LIVE for real.

The Woodbooger’s LIVE tips

  1. Same time, same trail.Go LIVE at the same hour, same days. Folks learn when to find you, and TikTok favors streamers that show up regular. Thirty minutes to an hour is plenty; most viewers wander off after that.
  2. Holler their names. When somebody taps, comments or sends a gift, say their name out loud and thank 'em proper. Nothing brings a body back like bein' seen.
  3. Set a goal they can see.Use TikTok's LIVE Goals for a little milestone, like the next 500 likes. A bar fillin' up gets a crowd cheerin'.
  4. Let the chat be the chaos. In LIVE mode, every tap fills the meter and throws somethin' new at me: boulders, groundhogs, fog. Call it out when a tier hits. Panic is good TV.
  5. Keep 'em talkin'.Ask questions. Let chat pick the next trail. Read comments while you play. A quiet LIVE is a lonesome holler.
  6. Stay in the picture.Folks come for the game and stay for you. Keep your face on screen, light on your face, and react big when things go sideways.
  7. Clip your best tumbles.Save the wild moments and post 'em as regular videos. That's how new folks find their way to your next LIVE.
  8. Woodboogers don't beg.TikTok's rules: never ask for gifts or promise anything in trade for 'em. Be good company and thank folks; the gifts follow the fun.
